ST. JAMES SCHOOL MILK PROGRAM
Milk is offered daily to students during all lunch shifts. We offer 2% white milk or non-fat chocolate for your child. The current cost per year is indicated on the milk order form. Orders are accepted throughout the year on a prorated basis. If you choose to order after the initial deadline, please contact the office for the amount due.
We provide Free Milk to qualified families. Families may request free milk directly through the Main Office. For the Milk Policy and guidelines, CLICK HERE.

LUNCH POLICIES AND PRACTICES- Lunch order forms are emailed home monthly. They are also linked here on the webpage.
- To keep costs down, we order our lunches from our vendors a month in advance. For this reason, it is imperative that you turn your order in by the stated deadline each month for your child’s lunch to be included.
- Check your selections for the entire month on the Google Form, tally the number of lunches ordered, and submit the form. Send in the exact payment with your student - no change is provided. A copy of your form will be emailed to you for your records.
- You must fill out one Google Form per child, but you may pay for all your children with one check.
- Your child’s teacher will receive a spreadsheet showing the students having hot lunch for the entire month. Each day, the teacher will distribute a generic lunch ticket to those students who ordered, which the student must present to the cafeteria lunch monitor.
- It is not possible to place a same-day “add-on” lunch order. If your child forgets his/her lunch, you may bring your child’s lunch to school for them. If not, we will offer them cereal so they will at least have something to eat.
- When your child is dismissed early or is sick on the day that he or she ordered lunch, you may call in advance to request that we wrap lunch for him/her and you may pick it up. Otherwise, you have forfeited the lunch. There will be no refunds issued for absences, illness, or early dismissals.
- If we have a school cancellation, you may request a credit for paid lunches on that day. These credits will be applied to next month’s lunch order. Indicate on your order that you are taking a credit and the date of the cancellation.
- Please note – teachers and staff are not permitted, by State law, to heat individual student lunches.

Guide Lines: Peanut and Tree Nut Free Policy- All food sent to school with students must be peanut and tree-nut-free. This includes snacks and lunch.
- Labels must be read! If it states it contains peanuts or tree nuts or may contain traces of peanuts or tree nuts, it is not allowed.
- Tree nuts include almonds, filberts, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pine nuts, pistachios, and walnuts.
- Nutella is a hazelnut spread and is not allowed.
- If the ingredient list states: “manufactured on equipment that also processes peanuts and/or tree nuts or manufactured in a facility that also processes peanuts and/or tree nuts” that is allowed for students without nut allergies to bring to school.
- If your child brings a snack or lunch containing peanuts or tree nuts to school by mistake they will not be allowed to eat it. They will be given crackers or cereal.
- Outside food delivery is not permitted. We strongly discourage parents from delivering fast food as it cannot be certified nut-free.
