The mission of St. James School, rooted in Jesus Christ, is to nurture the whole child by providing a quality academic education while living the Gospel message.
St. James School has established goals and objectives in four main areas of school life: spiritual, academic, social/emotional, and organizational. Here are some of the major goals we constantly strive to achieve:
Participate as a family in a full and active way in the sacramental life of the parish church.
Teach children and families about the various kinds of prayer and celebration of Catholic traditions.
Affirm the belief that each child is sacred and unique and loved unconditionally by God.
Provide opportunities for children and their families to know, to witness, and to become disciples of Jesus Christ in all aspects of their lives.
Enhance the existing academic program to ensure continued academic success in the following ways:
Give children the opportunity to develop and enhance their appreciation of and participation in the fine arts.
Provide children with the technological resources they need to meet the needs of a changing world.
Make learning a challenging and exciting experience for children in all grades.
Promote within the home/school environment a prevailing atmosphere of compassion, truth, and justice, which allows children to learn and grow in a safe, nurturing environment.
Assist parents in realizing their responsibility as primary role models for their children.
Heighten parent and faculty awareness of the tremendous pressures that children face in our modern society.
Call forth children’s gifts through cooperative interaction.
Deepen the St. James School family’s understanding of and commitment to the mission statement.
Develop a sense of community among Catholic parishes to sustain a common commitment to Catholic education.
Provide new parents, students, and faculty the information they will need to understand the history, mission, and philosophy of the school.
