Spiritually Report:

School wide Mass, March 6th at 9 am please join us. Stations of the Cross will be Friday March 27th 9am for school and 7pm for families and community. Some of the children were asking about how they can help in the community and out of this a decision was made to start a community coat closet. Coats, gloves, hats and other necessities will be donated to children at former teacher Miss Bostley’s school.

Principal’s Report:

Open house went really well, we have four new families. Would like to host another Open House in the spring when rejection letters for magnet schools go out.  Considering doing something like “Take a Tour Tuesdays or Walk around Wednesdays” to bring in more families to view the school. We would like to target the Pre K, Kindergarten and Kindergarten aged group.

Saint Patrick’s Day, we have been invited to walk in the parade in Bridgeport. Permission slips will be going home soon. Children should wear their gym uniforms. The Kyburz will no longer be doing Stations of the Cross. This is going to be their last year; we will need someone to take this over. This year we will be off from school on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Monday. Wellness club consists of some staff and some parents that are interested in promoting wellness to the students. They are looking into a running club, cooking classes and a family fitness night to name a few.  The wellness club will have someone attend next month to speak to everyone.  It was also discussed that we will try to get Sister Mary Grace to the next meeting to discuss safety issues from last year. The boiler went over the weekend and we needed to replace this at the cost of $60,000.

Open Discussion:

There is interest in having a Mother/ Son outing, possibly a Bluefish baseball game. Some parents were disappointed about selling ads for books for the basketball tournament and they did not receive the books or they came late, after the fact and these parents would like a refund. Some parents suggested advertising in magazines Ex: Parent’s Magazine or Fairfield County Magazine to try to bring up enrollment. A few parents were interested in perhaps having the boys not wear ties.  Blake’s Uniform needs to be updated regarding our uniforms.  Parents spoke about the room changes Mrs. Libero stated that this is still on hold; she stated that parents didn’t want it so she decided not to do it at this point.
