AVAILABLE SERVICE HOUR OPPORTUNITIES AS OF JUNE 2007

If you are looking for ways to work off your Family Participation Plan Assessment, then perhaps one of the opportunities below will work out for you. If you are interested in any of these opportunities please contact the person listed for additional information.

BINGO

Member in Training
Duties include being present at Bingo when the Member in Charge is not available, help with the preparation of reports to the Connecticut Division of Special Revenue, help maintain the financial records regarding Bingo accounts.

Set Up/ Kitchen Captain:
Hours 2pm to 6pm, one Friday per month
Need Captains for Teams 1, 3 and 4
Responsibilities include determining menu for the following month and creating a shopping list. Delegating assignments to set up workers and kitchen workers_ Responsible to make sure everything is ready for Bingo.

Shoppers
2 hours per month, maximum
Flexible hours
Coordinate with Set up/Kitchen Captains for lists of ingredients needed. Maybe asked by Member in Charge to purchase items for raffle. Must do the shopping at Costco and deliver items to school no later than Friday at 2pm. You may do the Bingo shopping while doing your personal shopping. Alternate weeks with another shopper.

Bingo Card Counter
1.5 hours per week, flexible
Putting together card tickets to sell on Friday evenings, counting all extra tickets and keeping inventory. Alternate weeks with another counter.

Set Up Workers
Hours 2pm to 5pm or 2 pm to 6 pm
Needed for teams I and 2
Help to prepare and cook the meal for the evening. Set out the condiments and paper goods. Set up coffee table and make coffee. Prepare and wrap deserts. Post menu, set up cash register, put out any special sales items, and set out seating cards. When kitchen opens at 4pm, take orders.

Substitutes
Hours vary
If you are looking to work down your FPP assessment, getting on the substitute list is a great way to work some extra hours. If you are available on Friday afternoon or evenings call and ask to be put on the list, Bingo always needs substitutes during the summer months.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
Chairperson
Coordinate and recruit volunteers, send out flyers, take reservations, collect, count and deposit money, Purchase food and craft items, etc...

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WALK-A-THON
Chairperson in Training
Work with the chairperson to promote the walk-a-thon to St. James families. Solicit sponsorship form local business. Collect and process pledge sheets and money. Work with the H.S.A. to coordinate a meet and greet event after the walk-a-thon. Coordinate contests for students to participate in. FALL CATALOG SALE
Chairperson
Coordinate and recruit volunteers to help collect orders, count money, prepare deposit, process and distribute orders.
Chairperson in Training
Assist chairperson in duties listed above.

YEARBOOK
Chairperson in Training
Assist chairperson with the following: coordinate a team of students to develop the annual school yearbook. Promote the sale of the yearbook to the St. James student body. Secure the contract with the yearbook publisher. Work with the school photographer and set up layout of the book. Process and fill orders. Collect, count and deposit the money at the school.
Yearbook Assistants
